Silver Alert

Search efforts continued through the night for a missing 92-year-old woman.

Kathryn (Kitty) Gwendolyn Wenckus She was last seen on foot at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office believe she walked away from her residence on the N3100 block of County Trunk QQ in the Chain O’ Lakes area and is wandering near the city of Waupaca.

Wenckus is described as 4-foot-7-inches tall, weighing 105 pounds, with white hair.

She was wearing flannel blue print shorts, lavender polo shirt and a gray sweatshirt with a hood. The lettering on the sweatshirt reads Chain O’ Lakes, Waupaca.

The sheriff’s office has asked volunteers to meet at 9 a.m. Friday at 180 County Trunk QQ, Waupaca, across from Shepherd of the Lakes Church.

Anyone who sees a woman matching Wenckus’ description should call the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office at 715-258-4466.

Assisting in the search are police officers from Waupaca and Weyauwega, state troopers, DNR wardens, firefighters from Waupaca, Weyauwega, Iola, Manawa, Fremont and Saxeville Fire Department, and the Wausau Medical Helicopter.
