Team headed to De Pere Regional

The season is winding down for the Waupaca girls’ golf team.

The Comets wrapped up North Eastern Conference match play Sept. 17 by hosting Little Chute and Luxemburg-Casco at the Waupaca Country Club.

Waupaca also joined Denmark, Fox Valley Lutheran, Freedom, Little Chute, Luxemburg-Casco, Marinette, Oconto Falls and Wrightstown at the conference meet Sept. 19 at Wander Springs Golf Course in Greenleaf.

The Comets placed 18th out of 23 teams Sept. 15 at the Appleton West Invitational at Winagamie Golf Course in Neenah. Cadie Ash led Waupaca with a 92, while Lylli Sondrol and Emma Ronaldson turned in rounds of 100 and 107, respectively.

Waupaca will also compete Friday, Sept. 21, at the Hartford Invitational in Hartford before opening WIAA state tournament play Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Division 1 De Pere Regional at Ledgeview Golf Club in De Pere.
