GOP lies about pre-existing conditions

How do you know that Gov. Walker is lying about his new support of pre-existing condition protections?

• He has not directed Attorney General Schimel to withdraw from the lawsuit seeking to destroy the Affordable Care Act.

• He has no plan for how he will get the Republican State senators and representatives to vote for this. They’ve already defeated it once.

• In 2017 Assembly Democrats put forward legislation Bill AB 363 to guarantee coverage of pre-existing and every state Assembly Republican including Rep. Kevin Petersen voted against it.

• State Assembly Republicans including Petersen came up with a bill, AB 365, for protecting pre-existing conditions that created a huge and very intentional loop hole. Under their bill AB 365, if an individual had a lapse in coverage for 63 days or longer (lost or changed jobs), insurance companies could charge people more if they have a pre-existing condition.
• The state Senate did not pass the AB 365.

• There is no protective coverage for pre-existing conditions in Wisconsin except ObamaCare, the Affordable Care Act. Republicans in Congress have tried to repeal ACA 70 times, the last time the GOP failed to repeal ACA by one vote when Senator John McCain voted thumbs down.

• Leah Vukmir says she will make sure you have access to health care. How much money will it cost you to have access, can you afford it?

• Republicans are “Lucy with the football and you are Charlie Brown,” about to believe they care about whether you have health care coverage.
