Pedestrian busted for meth

Police found meth while arresting a man for failing to appear in court.

Terry L. Searvogel, 30, Clintonville, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Oct. 31, Clintonville Police Officer Craig Kamke was near the library when he saw a man wearing a gray hooded jacket and jeans who seemed to match the description of a man involved in a hit-and-run incident in the same block.

Kamke approached the man, identified as Searvogel, and asked if he had been hit or almost hit by a car near the library on Oct. 23.

Searvogel said no, so Kamke allowed him to continue on his way.

When he returned to his squad car, Kamke ran a records check. He found a warrant had been issued for Searvogel’s arrest due to failure to notify the court of changes to his address and employment status in a paternity case.

Kamke made contact with Searvogel and arrested him on the outstanding warrant.

During the arrest, Kamke performed a pat-down search and reported finding a plastic gem bag with 0.6 grams of meth.

Searvogel was released from custody on a $1,000 signature bond.
