Madsen, Harold A.

Harold A. Madsen, age 102, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2018 at American Grand Assisted Living in Neenah, WI.

He was born June 8, 1916 in the Town of Lanark, Portage Co., WI; son of Charles and Grace (Porter) Madsen. On February 19, 1938, Harold married Mary M. Pryse in Stevens Point, WI and together they shared 63 years of marriage before her passing on December 29, 2001. Through the years, he lived in the communities of Amherst, Waupaca, and Neenah before heading south. Harold and Mary spent some time in Mississippi before settling in Palmetto, FL for 19 years. He will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Harold is survived by his three children, Virginia “Ginnie” (George) Hintz of Neenah, WI, Judy (David Zuckerman) Madsen of Door County, WI and Florida, and David (Lori) Madsen of Gold Canyon, AZ; eleven grandchildren, Debbie (Jim) Nast of Whitewater, WI, Cindy (Mark) Lancaster of Neenah, WI, Paul (Rachel) Hintz of Neenah, WI, Dick (Lisa) Hintz of Neenah, WI, Bob (Debbie) Hintz of Appleton, WI, Mike (Margie) Madsen of Fremont, WI, Todd Madsen of North Las Vegas, NV, Kathy (Tim) Guckenberg of Ellison Bay, WI, Laurie Falluca of Grafton, WI, Chris Hansen of Milwaukee, WI, and Lynn (Gino) Carini of Fox Point, WI; twenty great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace Madsen; his wife, Mary Madsen; two brothers, Roland (Eileen) Madsen and Carl (Lucille) Madsen; and four sisters, Gladys (Lloyd) Funk, Erma (Werner) Zinn, Ellen (James) Burgess, and Leone (Charles) Barden.

A Celebration of Harold’s Life will be on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Pastor Carl Ferguson will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst, WI. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Harold’s name to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

A special thank-you to the staff at Park Vista in Waupaca, American Grand Assisted Living in Neenah, and Compassus Hospice in Green Bay for the help and support given to our family throughout the years. The special care Harold received will never be forgotten.
