Author’s art at library

Illustrations of Jarrett Krosoczka on display

The Waupaca Are Public Library will host “The Illustrations of Jarrett Krosoczka” from Jan. 12 through Feb. 23, in its lower-level Exhibit Room.

Krosoczka is a National Book Award Finalist for his latest book, “Hey, Kiddo,” and a New York Times Best Seller for numerous other children’s titles, including “Punk Farm” and the “Lunch Lady” series.

The exhibit will showcase artwork and illustrations from many of his books with interactive opportunities for visitors to create their own art.

“Hey, Kiddo” is his autobiography of growing up with his grandparents while his mother was incarcerated for drug use.

The exhibit will also feature information about addiction and mental health issues.

In conjunction with the exhibit, the library will host a panel discussion at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in its lower-level meeting rooms to address mental health and addiction concerns.

The panel will include mental health, medical, educational and judicial professionals.

Issues, resources and the progress being made on mental health and addiction in Waupaca will be highlighted.

Krosoczka will visit Waupaca on Monday, Feb. 4, and give a public presentation in the lower-level meeting rooms about his book “Hey, Kiddo.”

A book signing will follow his presentation.

“The Illustrations of Jarrett Krosoczka” exhibit will be free to the public and open during regular library hours.
