Another year, another Polar Plunge

By Greg Seubert

Last year’s Polar Plunge into Lime Kiln Lake included temperatures that hovered near zero degrees.

That wasn’t the case for this year’s plunge, held Jan. 1 at Becker Marine near Waupaca.

About 100 people took the plunge this year under sunny skies and a temperature near 20.

The event, a fundraiser for the Waupaca Fire Department, also included a water rescue demonstration.
