Wolf killed on U.S. 10

DNR says wolf was shot

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources seeks the public’s help with information regarding the death of an adult female timber wolf.

WDNR conservation wardens found the dead wolf on Thursday morning on U.S. Highway 10 in Waupaca County. It was in the eastbound lane of what is known locally as Weyauwega Hill.

Wardens first suspected the wolf was struck by a passing eastbound vehicle.

Upon further inspection, wardens believe it was shot.
