Manawa wrestlers place fourth

Elmhorst wins 220-pound title

Six Manawa wrestlers placed in the top three Jan. 5 at the Manawa Invitational.

Andrew Elmhorst posted a 5-0 record to win the 220-pound championship for the Wolves.

Colten Klemm, Kevin Klemm, Bryan Griffin and Eli Yoder placed second at 106, 113, 138 and 170, respectively; and Gavin Linjer placed third at 106.

Other Manawa wrestlers that placed included Ryan Pynenberg, fourth, 132; Colin Moser, fifth, 160; Corey Beyer, fifth, 182; and Jeremy Grimm, sixth, 113.

Winneconne won the tournament with 281 points, followed by Stratford (193), Chilton/Hilbert (179.5), Manawa (171.5), Madison Memorial (156), Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol (123), Tri-County (93), Elcho (72), Montello (57), Crivitz (56) and Oconto (7).

The Wolves will return to Central Wisconsin Conference dual match play by hosting Pittsville at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, before heading to North Fond du Lac for an invitational Saturday, Jan. 12.
