On Jan. 10, State Trooper Kendi Linjer pulled over a vehicle that was eastbound on U.S. Highway 10 near County Trunk U in rural Weyauwega.

Linjer reported the driver, identified as Mathews, seemed nervous.

Mathews said he was driving to Milwaukee from Wausau.

Linjer asked about the aroma of marijuana she noticed, and Mathews denied having any pot in the car.

She also found a 9mm handgun in the glove box, along with a clip with 8 rounds next to the gun.

There was reportedly no serial number on the gun, and the license plate on the back of the vehicle was registered to a different vehicle owned by a Stevens Point woman.
