Panel to discuss addiction

Community program rescheduled

The Waupaca Area Public Library will host a community discussion about mental health and addiction at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the library’s lower-level meeting rooms.

The discussion was originally scheduled for Jan. 28, but was canceled due to the snowstorm.

It was to take place prior to author Jarrett J. Krosoczka’s visit to Waupaca, which was Feb. 4-5.

Mental health and addiction are topics in his latest book, “Hey, Kiddo.”

The community discussion will give people the opportunity to ask questions and find out what is happening locally related to mental health and addiction resources.

They may submit questions ahead of time by visiting the exhibit room in the lower-level of the library.

Some of Krosoczka’s illustrations are on display there through Saturday, Feb. 23.

The exhibit includes a table with information about mental health and addiction resources.

The Feb. 26 community discussion will include Waupaca Circuit Court Judge Vicki Clussman; Dustin Lyons, an outreach worker at Oxford House; Elissa Stults, clinical coordinator and licensed marriage and family therapist at Catalpa Health; Greg Nyen, administrator of the Waupaca School District; Dr. Zach Baeseman, associate medical director of ThedaCare Physicians-Waupaca; Sgt. Kevin Studzinski of the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office; Wes Van Epps, operations coordinator of the Waupaca Recovery Community Center; Tammy Neumann, a registered nurse/clinical coordinator for Marshfield Clinic Health System’s Family Health Center Substance Abuse Services; and a representative from Waupaca County’s Department of Health and Human Services.
