New Iola facility offers tours

The Willows to host grand opening

By Holly Neumann

The Willows, a new community-based residential facility with a secured memory care unit, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24.

The facility is located at 515 W. Iola St., Iola.

“We hope to see many community members there,” said Nicole Barrett, the facility’s CEO and administrator. “This will be our grand opening for the public to walk through our brand new facility. Guided tours will be given every half hour. Otherwise, visitors can walk around as they please.”

Information focusing on the services offered, along with rates and current vacancies, will be available.

“The community will also have a chance to meet and talk with some of the care takers that will be working there,” she said.

Barrett said their services are expanding to accommodate a larger group of seniors in the community.

“The completion of The Willows is important for two main reasons,” she said. “First, it secures the operation of our skilled nursing facility on a financial basis and second, it allows our long-term care continuum to be complete.”

The official opening date for the Willows will be April 1.

“We still have many openings and are encouraging people to contact our administrator to get on our wait list,” Barrett said. “Anyone interested in coming to the facility should contact Heather Berg, [email protected] or 714-445-4440.”
