Couple charged with ID theft

A Farmington woman has accused her brother and his wife of stealing nearly $30,000 from her bank account.

Stephen and Roxanne Dombrowski, ages 53 and 56, of Sussex, are charged with identity theft, credit card fraud and felony theft.

According to the criminal complaint, a widow told Waupaca County Deputy Jon Loken that $30,000 had been taken from her account.

Her son had discovered multiple unauthorized transactions when he reviewed her accounts, after her husband passed away.

Between Nov. 25, 2016, and Jan. 23, 2017, 82 transactions totaling $28,539 were made, some at stores and gas stations, most allegedly for gambling.

The woman did not suspect the Dombrowskis until investigators showed her photos of them using her card at area stores.

She also told investigators she discovered $5,000 in cash missing from her purse, but thought she had misplaced the money.

She then withdrew another $3,000 and that also went missing.

The woman said Stephen and Roxanne Dombrowski had a key to her house and helped take care of her property.

She said she once returned home and found Roxanne Dombrowsi running out of her bedroom, the complaint says.

The Dombrowskis have been summoned to appear in court on April 23.
