Incumbents win contested races

By Erik Buchinger

The two incumbents on the Clintonville Public Schools Board of Education retained their seats during the spring election on April 2.

Mark Zachow and Lori Poppe will remain on the school board, ousting challenger Patrick Danforth.

“I want to sincerely thank everyone for their support,” Zachow said in an email. “I’m truly humbled by the confidence that you place in me, and look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of the Clintonville school district. Thank you again.”

Danforth congratulated Zachow and Poppe in an email to the Clintonville Tribune-Gazette.

“I’d like to congratulate Mark Zachow and Lorie Jean Poppe for being re-elected to the Clintonville School Board,” Danforth said. “Each of them over the years have earned the trust and respect of the voters. I wholeheartedly accept their decision. I’ll continue to support the district in anyway I can.”

Poppe did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.

In the only contested race on the Clintonville City Council, Jim Supanich defeated Stephanie Huntley in the Fourth District.

In the race for Northern Waupaca County Joint Municipal Court judge, James Jueds received 1,154 votes.

John Mazuroski Jr. won the race for Black Creek Joint Municipal Court judge, which has jurisdiction over the villages of Black Creek, Bear Creek and Nichols.
