State 54 construction plan to be presented tonight

A public involvement meeting will outline proposed construction on State Highway 54 between the city of New London and the village of Shiocton.

The meeting will be held Thursday, April 4, from 5-6 p.m. at the Shiocton School Library Media Center, N5650 Broad St. There will be a short presentation at 5:15 p.m. followed by an open-house meeting format.

The proposed project is a resurface-level improvement from the west Outagamie County line to Park Avenue in Shiocton.

It includes a mill and overlay of the existing pavement, culvert and shoulder work, rumble strips, sanitary sewer and water adjustments in Shiocton, as well as other miscellaneous repairs along State 54.

A detour is proposed for structure work. Right of way acquisition and temporary easements for grading will be required for the project.

Members of the public can review proposed project details, displays and exhibits, ask questions, and provide comment that may assist the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region during project design. WisDOT staff will also be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

Persons who are unable to attend the meeting and would like project information or to provide comment may contact WisDOT Project Manager Tim Rank. Call 920-360-2579, email [email protected] or send him a letter to 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54304.
