Police find cocaine

Driver has prior prison time

Latia D. Abbott, 30, Fort Atkinson, is charged with a second possession of cocaine, obstructing an officer, a third drunken driving offense, operating after revocation and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, April 15, Weyauwega Police Officer Justin Malueg stopped a vehicle at the Weyauwega Travel Plaza.

He reported that a headlight and turn signal appeared defective.

According to the criminal complaint, the driver said she had no ID with her and identified herself as “Katie Loskot.”

Malueg described the woman as easily excited and nervous, making frequent, abrupt movements.

He checked the vehicle’s registration and called the owner, who said he had loaned his car to Latia Abbott.

Malueg later found Abbott’s driver’s license in the pants pocket of a male passenger. The license was revoked.

A loaded syringe and a pipe were also located.

Abbott reportedly told Malueg that she purchased half an 8 ball of coke in Pewaukee and had been smoking it off and on that day.

She also said she took some suboxone and smoked pot earlier, according to the complaint.

Although she was released from Waupaca County jail on a $2,000 signature bond, Abbott is currently in Jefferson County jail.

In addition to two prior OWIs, Abbott has multiple felony and misdemeanor convictions.

In December 2013, Abbott was convicted in Lincoln County of two counts of delivery of heroin, and convicted in Marathon County of possession of methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm and felony theft.

She was sentenced to a total of two years in state prison and five years of extended supervision.

Abbott was released to extended supervision on Jan. 26, 2015.

Her supervision was revoked, and she was returned to prison on Nov. 4, 2015.

She was released again on Jan. 17, 2017.

On May 15, 2017, Abbott was arrested for possession of narcotics, and later convicted and sentenced to 180 days in jail.

Her extended supervision was revoked again, and Abbott returned to prison on Aug. 18, 2017.

She was released again on Oct. 23, 2018.
