The Waupaca baseball team finished up its North Eastern Conference schedule with a bang.

The Comets had a 7-6 record in conference play May 10 after a 4-3 loss to Wrightstown, but won their final five North Eastern games, including a 6-0 victory May 17 over Oconto Falls at Lakemen Field.

Brady Johnson scattered four hits over seven innings in the team’s second complete-game shutout of the season.

“It was Senior/Parent Recognition Night, so our lineup included all eight of our senior players,” coach Rocky Mondello said. “Tyler Tischendorf has a good night at the plate with two hits, Davis Levine had an RBI double and multiple Comet players contributed single hits, including Roberto Razo, Alex Thuerman, Justin Vaughn and Brandon Wanty.”

The Comets also swept Luxemburg-Casco, 7-3 and 1-0, May 11 in Luxemburg and picked up two wins over Clintonville.

Waupaca handed the Truckers a 10-2 loss May 14 at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute and followed that up two days later with a 10-6 win in Clintonville.
