Geraldine “Gerry” Hanson of Waupaca, age 83, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in the Town of Royalton on February 6, 1936 to the late Alfred and Ella (Herzfeldt) Zeinert. On August 6, 1982 she married David Hanson. Gerry was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca. She had worked at Presto Products in Weyauwega before retiring. Gerry enjoyed rose mauling.
She is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Charlene (Charles) Niemuth; grandchildren: Nathan and Matthew Niemuth and Amy (Mike) Diedrich, great-grandsons, Kaleb and Zachary; sisters: Geneva (John) Moericke, Elaine Ploetz, Sally Schmidt and Carol (Herbert) Lucht; brother, Marvin (Joan) Zeinert; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence “Larry”; first husband, Lawrence Vetter and brothers, Eugene and Kenneth Zeinert.
The Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 1120 Evans Road. Friends and family may gather on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Lind Center Cemetery. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
