Clintonville A’s reach BABA title game

In the Badger Amateur Baseball Association Semi-Finals, the Clintonville Athletics advanced to the championship game in grand fashion as they took down the Scandinavia Vikings in the bottom of the ninth inning on Aug. 24.

Brock Smejkal was four-of-five with a double and was the winning pitcher, Austin Hoffman was two-of-five with two RBI, Hunter Vollmer was two-of-five with an RBI, and Turner Doornink was one-of-three with an RBI for Clintonville.

Scandinavia’s Ben Lee was two-of-four with a two-run homerun and three runs batted in, and Logan Moe and Caleb Bembenet each had an RBI.

The Athletic were down going into the bottom of the ninth inning, but scored five runs to secure their spot in the BABA Grand Championship at Little Falls on Sunday, Aug 31.
