Clintonville football preview

Posted

The Truckers finished off the 2024 season going 2-7 and 1-6 in the Northwoods conference. Clintonville looks to get more out of both sides of the ball, as they struggled to score, and stop their opponents from putting points on the board.

All-Northwoods wide receiver Sam Wegener will be a struggle to replace as he moves on to play for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater after a season where he led the conference in receptions (50), receiving yards (686) and touchdown catches (7), as well as taking snaps at quarterback.

Clintonville also loses Honorable Mention offensive lineman Blake Laviolette, but returns Honorable Mention Ryan Gauthier to shore up the line in 2025.

Wegener was also the focal point of the defense for the Truckers as he was named All-Northwoods First-Team defensive back after providing 40 tackles, seven tackles for loss, a sack and an interception.

The Truckers also lost Honorable Mention linebackers Teegan Laack, who led the Truckers with 105 tackles and nine tackles for loss, as well as having two forced fumbles and an interception, and Lincoln Korth , who had 41 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two interceptions.

Zach Johnson will be asked to lead for Clintonville on defense and offense, as he was an Honorable Mention at defensive back in 2024, as well as a 2023 Second-Team all-conference wide receiver, before being made the starting quarterback through most of the 2024 season.
