Kenneth J. Dequaine, of Waupaca, formerly of Madison, WI, age 94, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from dementia.
He was born in Green Bay, WI on November 14, 1928 to the late John and Antoinette Dequaine. On June 17, 1950 he married Grace Jors, she preceded him in death on October 14, 2018.
Ken was a veteran of the Army Air Corp, serving from 1946 until 1949. He was an architect with Strang Partners in Madison and then was self-employed. His true passion in life was photography. His pictures were featured in Our Wisconsin Magazine as well as various other Wisconsin magazines. He was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Waupaca.
He will be missed by his daughter: Laura (Dennis) Thousand; grandchildren: Tara Thousand and Andrew Thousand; great grandchildren: Chloe and Aiden Turk; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laurel Barry.
The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. The visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice, especially Mark Wedige, and all the caregivers at Ingle Haven Assisted Living in Mount Horeb, WI.
