Nancy Lee (Moon) DuFour of Waupaca, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
She was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on March 14, 1944, to the late David and Irene (Gasser) Moon. Nancy was a member of Faith Community Church in Waupaca. She will be dearly missed by her husband: Terry; sons: Ronald and James Grabko; brothers: Victor (Barbara) Moon and Clyde Moon; sister: Helen Cloyd; grandson: Mitchell; many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Goings and sister, Joan Sturdevant.
She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1962 and married Terry DuFour on July 20, 1963. She attended cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser for many years. Nancy and Terry lived in Middleton, Mazomanie, Lodi, Wausau, Schofield (Weston), Marathon, Pulaski, Rawhide, and Waupaca – moving for teaching positions for Terry, or just to get further out of the city! Nancy did office work at Rawhide before they became house parents there. She loved serving as manager at the Senior Nutrition Site at Weyauwega where she put her creative skills to work. The many completed photo albums are testimony to her enjoyment of being a Creative Memories consultant. Gardening was also her passion, and she managed and loved the apple orchard on Draeger Road. Several major life events include surviving a car accident with a milk truck, fostering Ron, Jim, and Tom, trusting God for supplementing their needs when Terry broke his legs and was without income for 9 months, living through the many remodeling projects Terry completed, and surviving and thriving after a major stroke in 2010. But the greatest life event was when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior shortly after Terry experienced his salvation. They received peace, love, and joy like they had never known, and continued to grow in their faith. Nancy’s greatest desire was for her extended family to become Christ followers. Nancy was swept up into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, and eagerly waits for her loved ones to join her.
