WAUPACA - The downtown Halloween on Main event will be back for another year after last year’s event saw almost 6,000 guests in attendance.
This year the event will be held Oct. 24 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown Waupaca.
Laura Colbert, the Director of Parks and Recreation, was on hand at a recent city council meeting to discuss road closures needed for the event to go on safely.
Colbert said they worked with the Halloween on Main committee as well as the Waupaca Police Chief in order to decide the layout of the events, namely the moving of the Touch-a-Truck activity throughout Main Street to help increase safety and provide more space and reduce congestion for the event itself.
The road closures that were approved at the Sept. 2 meeting include Main Street and Water Street up to the intersection of Elm Street, Division Street and Mill Street.
