Nicholas P. Hill, age 34 of Appleton, passed away Monday evening, January 20, 2025 at his parent’s home in the Town of Larrabee, surrounded by his family, after a short battle with cancer.
Nicholas “Nic” Paul Hill was born September 29, 1990 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada; the son of George W. & Donna L. (nee Kabble) Hill. He attended school for a time in Ontario, and later graduated from Clintonville High School with the class of 2009. He attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with a minor in Business; and later earned his Master’s in Applied Psychology from U.W. Stout. Nic worked for a time at the Social Security office in Madison as a disability benefits specialist. He later landed his “dream job” of working as an Economist Advanced, for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. This career saw him working with data and numbers to put together models of trends in the workforce of WI. His superiors recognized his skills in working with data, specifically Microsoft Excel, and noted that procedures and practices that Nic had developed, will be used by the department for many years to come. Nic enjoyed traveling around the U.S., gaming with friends, and hiking in nature. He looked forward to movie nights with friends and bowling from time to time. He had a passion for cooking and worked hard to perfect his creations. With a love of musicals, Nic was able to see one last performance of the Lion King within the last week along with his family. It is a memory that will last in the hearts and minds of his loved ones forever. Nic will be remembered for his quiet demeanor, but could also get passionate about his favorite things. Long conversations with friends and family was something he enjoyed. Nic had perfect comedic timing every now and then, and when he got it right, everyone would have a laugh. Thinking outside of the box was his specialty, and when there was a problem that needed some reflection to solve, he was your guy.
Just as Nic had been reminded by the catchy Lion King song just last week, I’m certain he would wish his friends and family an energetic, “Hakuna Matata,” until we meet again.
Survivors include:
