Rita Catherine Kemp Jalovy, aged 94, passed away on May 5, 2024, in Neenah, WI, with her daughter by her side.

She was born in Chicago, IL, to Joseph and Mary Kemp, the third of their children. On November 4, 1950, she married the love of her life, Bruno Jalovy, in Chicago, IL.

Rita was a woman of many passions and pursuits. She served as the Christian Education Director at St. Magdalene in Waupaca, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched. Her involvement in 4-H, her love for clogging, and her prowess in sports such as tennis, golf, and pickleball showcased her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Rita believed in the importance of staying active, both mentally and physically, and she walked 2 miles every day with dedication and joy.

Rita is survived by her devoted children: Marian (Tom) Galson of Neenah, WI, Marie DeShaney of Minocqua, WI, and Scott Muhne of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruno in 2004, her parents, Joseph and Mary, and her beloved daughter, Cathy Moriarity.

A Memorial Mass to honor Rita’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI. Prior to the Mass, a Memorial Visitation will take place at the church starting at 10:00 AM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
