Made-in-Wega butter wins at state

Posted

WEYAUWEGA – Weyauwega Star Dairy won first place honors in both the salted and unsalted butter categories at the 2025 Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Products Contest. The butter is made with locally sourced milk from family-owned dairy farms.
“This is a huge win for our entire Weyauwega family. Winning first place for salted and unsalted butter in a prestigious competition like the Wisconsin State Fair is something we’re incredibly proud of,” said Steve Knaus. “These awards are a testament to the more than four generations of craftsmanship behind our name and the incredible team that brings that legacy to life every day.”
Each entry in the Dairy Products Contest was evaluated by a panel of expert judges for flavor, texture, color, and overall quality. There were over 500 entries across all dairy categories and the competition is high.
Weyauwega’s award-winning butters will be featured at the Blue Ribbon Dairy Products Auction, taking place on August 7 during the Wisconsin State Fair at Saz’s Hospitality Village. The auction supports scholarships for students pursuing careers in the dairy industry and funds consumer dairy education throughout the state.
Weyauwega’s award-winning butter can be found at their shop in Weyauwega and at Piggly Wiggly in Waupaca.
