Alan P. Olkowski, age 80 of Waupaca, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 with his loving family by his side at ThedaCare Medical Center in Waupaca.
Alan was born on July 1, 1944; son of the late Andrew and Muriel (Lloyd) Olkowski in Iola, WI. He graduated from Waupaca High School in 1962. On October 24, 1964; he married Suzanne Wright.
Alan was a carpenter all his life, working with his father and later taking over the business. They built many homes in the Waupaca area. He loved living along the Crystal River, tending to his gardens and wintering in Florida and Arizona. His hobbies included woodworking, carving, going to rummage sales and flea markets.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; children, Dean (Kelly Ellington) Olkowski and Stacy (Patrick) Jarvis; grandchildren; Stephanie Jarvis, Michael Jarvis, Mazie Olkowski, Emeline Olkowski, nephew; Andrew (Linda) Huntoon, nieces; Dorri Flaata and Diane Scheider, brothers-in-law; Denver (Carole) Wright, Gary (Mary) Wright and Ray Hackbart. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ruth Scheider, brother, Larry Olkowski, niece, Connie Pollack, in-laws, Willard and Esther Wright, sister-in-law, LuAnn Hackbart and brother-in-law, Randall Wright.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Parfreyville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service at the Church. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a donation will be made to the Parfreyville United Methodist Church in Alan’s name.
