Plane crash in Waupaca

Two injured at airport

Two people were injured a single-engine airplane accident at approximately 2:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Waupaca Municipal Airport.

Both the pilot and the sole passenger suffered serious injuries in the accident.

ThedaStar airlifted them to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

The Waupaca Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Waupaca County sheriff’s Office, Waupaca Fire Department, Weyauwega Fire Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, Waupaca airport staff, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Board.

No further information has been released at this time.
