MANAWA- Manawa hosted Pacelli on Aug. 21, as both looking to start off the 2025 season on with a victory as each team only had two wins a season ago.
Running Back Bryce Flaker gave Pacelli the lead in the second quarter as he scored on a 12-yard touchdown run to go up 6-0 on Manawa.
Eric Reincke scored on a handoff in the third quarter from the Manawa five-yard line to pull Pacelli ahead 12-0. Flaker would score the two-point conversion to give Manawa the 14-0 lead.
Flaker finished the game with 82 rushing yards and a touchdown for Pacelli, Reincke finished with 49 yards rushing and 23 yards receiving with two catches and quarterback Jake Williams finished with 87 yards rushing.
Marinette 51,
Clintonville 6
CLINTONVILLE-The Truckers opened their season against a visiting Marinette in disappointing fashion as they could not get productivity on either side of the ball.
The Truckers seemed to have a spark early as Zach Johnson, who lined up at quarterback scored on Clintonville’s opening drive with a touchdown run to give his team the early 6-0 lead.
Marinette went on to amass 51 unanswered points and gained a 41-6 lead by the end of the first half.
The Truckers will travel to face Ripon for their next game on Aug. 28.
Freedom 28,
New London 7
FREEEDOM-Traveling to take on the Freedom Irish, the New London Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season.
The Bulldogs went down 14-0 in the first half, as the Irish’s Nolan Phillips caught his first of two touchdowns in the opening quarter to put Freedom up.
Phillips caught his second touchdown in the second quarter with a 38 yard reception.
New London cut the Freedom lead in half as they drove down the field in the third quarter and quarterback Dane Meyer took a two-yard quarterback keeper in for a score to make it a 14-7 deficit.
The Irish responded with a drive down to the Bulldogs one-yard line that resulted in a Nixon Heinke touchdown run that gave the Irish a 21-7 lead in the fourth quarter.
On the ensuing New London possession the Irish sealed the win with a fumble recovery that Heinke scooped up for a 23-yard return and score to ice the game with a final of 28-7.
