NEENAH-Manawa Wolves traveled to St. Mary Catholic and fell to the Zephyrs on Aug. 29.
The Zephyrs pulled ahead in the opening minute of the first quarter, scoring a three-yard touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead over the Wolves.
The Zephyrs extended their lead in the third quarter when they completed a 25-yard touchdown pass, making it 14-0 against the Wolves.
In the fourth quarter, the Zephyrs secured their win by adding a six-yard touchdown run, setting the final score at 20-0 over the Wolves.
Freedom 20,
Waupaca 13
WAUPACA-The visiting Irish got a victory over Waupaca on Aug. 29 as the Comets fell to 0-2.
Irish got the first score in the opening quarter with a quarterback sneak to give Freedom a 7-0 lead.
In the second quarter, Freedom took a lead with a 34-yard field goal to make the score 10-0.
Comet’s quarterback Austin Adamczak cut into the Freedom lead with a four-yard touchdown run to make it a 10-7 game.
Waupaca took the lead with an interception that was returned 48 yards to the house as Jacob Durrant put the Comets up 13-10 after the pick six.
Freedom responded at the beginning of the fourth quarter with its second field goal of the game to tie the score at 13-13.
The Irish took the final lead with 1:10 left on the clock, going up 20-13 after a three-yard touchdown run that made the score 20-13.
Pulaski 42,
Hortonville 7
PULASKI- Hortonville went on the road to face Pulaski, but had trouble shutting down their offense on Aug.29.
Pulaski scored early and often, taking a 28-point lead into halftime. Three different rushers found pay dirt for Pulaski in the game as Brock Wiedeman and Anthony Ficarri scored a touchdown each, and quarterback Bohdan Schmidt crossed the goal line twice.
Schmidt ran for 128 yards and only completed four passes, but two of those were for touchdowns.
The Polar Bears had a touchdown in the fourth quarter as AJ Pheifer found Jon Englebert for a score.
Little Chute 27,
New London 12
NEW LONDON-The Bulldogs hosted a visiting Little Chute as both teams looked to get the first win of the early season.
The Mustangs took the early 6-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Bulldogs tied the game 6-6 as quarterback Dane Meyer found a receiver in the end zone on a 20-yard heave in the final seconds of the first half.
Down 20-6 in the fourth quarter, Meyer made it a one-score deficit as he crossed the goalline after an 11-yard quarterback keeper to make the score 20-12.
Little Chute closed the door as they scored a touchdown in the final minutes to win 27-12.
Ripon 54,
Clintonville 6
RIPON- Clintonville went on the road and struggled on both sides of the ball against Ripon on Aug. 28.
Ripon dominated from the early onset of the contest, going up 27-0 early. Clintonville would score its lone touchdown of the game in the second quarter as Zach Johnson ran the ball in for a score.
Ripon scored another 27 points in the second quarter, taking the lead and what would be the final score, into halftime 54-6.
