Sanger, Karl Alvin

Posted

Karl Alvin Sanger, age 84, went home to meet Jesus on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Karl was born February 26th, 1940, in Wisconsin Rapids to Alvin and Lilah Sanger (Nee Manka). Karl graduated from Nekoosa High School in 1961, and Madison School of Pharmacy in 1965.

On June 12th, 1965, Karl married the love of his life, Jan Hillcoat. Their love for each other was a great example of true lifelong love. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage! Jan preceded him in death June 26th, 2022.

Karl and Jan bought Shelp Pharmacy in Weyauwega on August 1st, 1967. Karl and Jan went on to successfully own and operate “Sangers Pharmacy” in Weyauwega, Manawa, and Iola locations. They were a hard-working team operating the pharmacy for over 35 years! Karl had a passion for tinkering from remodeling 3 grey hound buses and converting them into “campers” and updating and fixing anything in his path. Jan and Karl “retired” in 2007 to Naples, to pursue the Florida sunshine! Karl’s love for Pharmacy could not be extinguished. He went on to attain his Florida Pharmacist License at the young age of 67 and ultimately fully retired at age 79! Recently, his passions were drumming at the senior center, riding his bike around Waupaca, and kayaking around the chain lakes.

Karl is survived by: Matt (Jenny) Sanger, children Sydney, Brock, Sayah and Luke; Torri (Robert) Cruz, children Gavin and Ian; Janah (Brian) Kaminske, children Nathan (Jess) Kaminske, Karter (fiancée Ben Snyder) Alison (Quinn Dittmann); sisters-in-law Geri (Richard) Schoenoff and Darlene (Ed) Reichmann; brother-in-law Dan (Marsha) Hillcoat. He is further survived by very special nieces, nephews, dear friends, and very loyal furry companion Sammy, who was always at his side.

The Christian Funeral for Karl will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Aaron Kristopeit officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
