Audrey C. Schmidt, age 91, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024

at Wisconsin Rapids Health in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

She was born December 12, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI; the beloved daughter of Alfred and Blanche (Czaja) Pepp.

Audrey’s life was one of love, service, and dedication to her family, community, and faith. She spent her formative years in Milwaukee, where she received her education. On December 11, 1954, Audrey joined in marriage with Harley E. Schmidt in Shorewood, WI. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and partnership, raising three children: Tom, Laurie, and Joe.

The couple ventured into farming in the Scandinavia/Iola area for five years. After the untimely passing of her husband Harley on August 13, 1966, Audrey found her home in Waupaca. Her faith was central to her life, and she was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Audrey served as an elder, led as President of TWELCA for three years, and contributed to the Altar Guild. Her devotion extended to the youth of the church, as she volunteered her time in the kitchen with the confirmation students.

Beyond her roles within her church community, Audrey was a dedicated homemaker. She also worked diligently at Kmart and Everclean Fabric Care in Waupaca. Her caring nature led her to a role as a nurses’ aide at Bethany Home and Riverside Medical Center, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and kindness.

Audrey’s warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by her loving family and countless friends. Her legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Audrey is survived by her son Joseph Schmidt of Waupaca; six grandchildren Stacey Schmidt of Waupaca, Joy (Travis) Schmidt-Guenette of Clintonville, Rachel “Leo” Schmidt of Green Bay, Harley D. Schmidt of Waupaca, Harley E.
