Camden Schurk-Pacelli

Capping off his basketball career with a stellar senior campaign, Camden Schurk leads the way for Pacelli as the top scorer in the Central Wisconsin-South, averaging 24.7 points per game.

Camden has been named to the Central Wisconsin-South First Team the last two seasons, leading Pacelli to a conference title in the 2022-2023 season.
At three years old, Camden, whose father John is the Head Coach at Pacelli, started playing basketball,”  My dad, he’s been my coach for as long as I can remember. He’s coached my youth travel teams, my AAU teams, and my high school team for the past few years. And I can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done and helped me throughout the years.”

The energy of the fans and the atmosphere of the game gives Camden the ability to keep his focus while playing, “  Seeing the crowd get involved with the game. Not when they are yelling at the refs and coaches and getting ejected. But when they are standing up and cheering when a big play happens and getting excited about watching. And I’m waiting for when I play in front of a crowd like that because I think it would be an amazing experience.”

Camden, who broke the Pacelli scoring record on January 3rd, balances life on and off the court, “ My freshman year was a lot of adjusting to the pace of high school learning, so it was a bit overwhelming at first, especially with having practice every day after school. So far during my senior year since I know my routine and schedule pretty well, it’s a lot easier to determine when to do my homework around sports and my two internships.”

Going into his senior year, Camden has seen his personal growth, “ Coming in as a freshman, and as the coach’s kid, there was a lot of pressure on me and high expectations early on. And I feel like looking back on it now, I let that get to me a lot. But after the past 3 ½ years of high school, I can say that I’ve met the expectations people had put on me from the beginning.”
