Malise Beduhn-Pacelli

Pacelli is in the midst of another stellar year in the Central Wisconsin–-South after appearing in the WIAA Division 4 State semifinals in 2024. A major contributor to the team’s success is infielder Malise Beduhn.

Malise is already a three-time All-Central Wisconsin Conference-South selection and has 13 hits and 10 runs this season.

Introduced to baseball at five by his parents, Malose already has a state appearance, a sectional championship and two regional championships.

Malise believes the details and nuances of his sport make it unique, “The game of baseball is simple, but the little things make a big difference.  There is always somewhere to be on a play.  Backing up a throw, hitting your cut-off, etc. can be the difference in the outcome.”

His love of baseball is apparent. Malise, a standout shortstop, he names Ozzie Smith, the hall-of-fame shortstop, as the athlete he looks up to and believes his defense and baseball I.Q. are his best attributes on the field.

Malise is striving to be the leader his senior teammates were a season ago, “I was fortunate to play with some good upperclassmen my freshmen and sophomore year. They were mentors for me on and off the field. They left some big shoes to fill. I hope I am providing that same leadership as a senior.”

“I have been fortunate to play for some great coaches that have taught me the game and with some teammates that have become lifelong friends. I am thankful for all the support from the coaches, parents, and teammates through the years.”
