Stampede to take place July 5

Posted

MANAWA – The annual Stampede will be held July 5 before the Mid-Western Rodeo parade that rolls through downtown Manawa.
This event is the only fund raiser that the Little Wolf River Trail Organization holds to raise money to take care of the maintenance on the trail system in Manawa.
The race is either a 5K or 10K and participants can either run or walk.
Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. on race day, for those who did not sign up prior to the race, and the fee to participate is $25.
The course meanders its way through Manawa, while the 10K allows for participants to see the entire city. All the racers run through the river trail to end at Lindsay Park.

Lindsay Park is also where the race begins and where participants will register, which is located on North Bridge Street.
The race is a combination of trails and streets throughout the city.
There will be snacks and refreshments following the race.
Awards will be given to the top three males and females in each age division as well.
The funds that are raised go to upkeep of the current trails, which have seen a lot of issues in the last year as the flooding on July 5, 2024 nearly destroyed the trail.
Sponsors for the race include First State Bank, Tyson Foods, Manawa Lions, DoTerra, Manawa Heating and Cooling, Waupaca Foundry, Lorge Plumbing, Spiegelberg Implement, Bear Lake Campground and Resort, Hidden Treasures Event Barn, Heartland Veterinary Partners and the Mid-western Rodeo.
More information on the race can be found on Facebook at Little Wolf River Trail.
