The Vault provides pool and darts

NEW LONDON – Since it opened in September 2024, The Vault in New London has provided pool and dart enthusiasts with a place to hone their skills.
Located at 310 W North Water Street, which used to be a carpet store, The Vault has four pool tables and eight dart machines.
“The carpet store ended up moving so we ended up having a big space that was empty,” said Yash Goel, owner of The Vault. “We have a bar next door, so we should open a pool hall because the town is pretty big into darts and pool. This is a perfect place to do that.”
Goel, who also owns the Dragon’s Den bar next door to The Vault, said it’s the number of pool tables and dart machines the separates The Vault from other bars in New London. In addition, The Vault offers a selection of alcoholic beverages and provides “good ambiance.”
The New London Travel Plaza is also owned by Goel. That was his first investment in New London.

“There is so much potential in this town, so of course I’d like to invest more,” Goel said.
Once Goel and his wife, Pamela, decided to convert the former carpet store into The Vault pool and dart hall, he said it took about six months to turn that vision into a reality. He said his wife was heavily involved in the planning process and “making this a successful business.”
“The town was pretty supportive of what we were trying to do,” he said. “We didn’t have too many issues trying to open this.”
After opening Dragon’s Den around two years ago, Goel said he got to know the clientele and realized there was a need for a pool and dart hall.
“We noticed that the town is pretty big into pool and darts, and we just want to give more options to the customers in town,” Goel said.
Upon opening The Vault, Goel said customers loved it and didn’t recognize the building as a former carpet store.
Goel said he doesn’t have any regrets about opening The Vault.
“It’s going in the right direction,” he said. “All it takes is our team’s hard work.”
In addition to New London residents frequenting The Vault, Goel said customers from outside New London also come to The Vault.
“When it’s nice out everyone wants to take a drive and check the news places out that have opened,” Goel said. “We do get quite a bit of clientele from different towns.”
With Goel owning both The Vault and Dragon’s Den, customers of The Vault are allowed to order food at Dragon’s Den and bring it to The Vault.
As one would expect, pool and dart leagues will be forming at The Vault. Those interested in joining a league should inquire at The Vault.
Goel said his goal is to focus on making The Vault a better place. If that means offering more options to customers, he said there is room for expansion.
