Top-Ranked Warhawks wrestling have good showing

The Weyauwega-Fremont Warhawks wrestling team delivered another big week beginning on Dec. 27 placing second out of 44 teams at the Mid-States Holiday Classic. With 13 wrestlers competing, the Warhawks placed 11 in the top ten of their weight classes finishing runner-up behind Hononegah of Illinois.

On January 4, the Warhawks took first place, showing why they are the team to beat in the state, winning the 15-Team D.C. Everest Invitational. The Warhawks won the title over second-place Stratford by 104 points. Two wrestlers won their weight class, as freshman Collin Hamm won the 150-pound division, and senior Cashten Hoffman took the 285-pound title.
