STEVENS POINT—Durand J. Peterson, 19, was arrested for three counts of Possession of Child Pornography. On April 30, Peterson appeared to the bond hearing by video while in custody. At this time a cash bond of $20,000 was set.
The following day on May 1, Peterson posted bond with the accompanying conditions that he is not to utilize devices that access the internet, to have no contact with any unsupervised minor children, and to report to Portage County Justice Programs and comply with the requirements for assessment and reporting. Peterson’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 9.
In the state of Wisconsin, Possession of Child Pornography is classified as a Class D Felony. If convicted, a Class D Felony can carry a maximum of 25 years in jail and/or a maximum $100,000 fine.
