Posted

Timothy E. Wanta, age 71 of Bear Creek, passed away on Wednesday September 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Timothy “Tim” Edward Wanta was born November 18, 1952 in Clintonville, son to the late Edward & Virginia (Sorenson) Wanta. He attended Clintonville Schools where he played football, golf, and graduated with the class of 1971. He worked at his family’s floral shop, Wanta’s Floral, Clintonville, for a time, later working as a coater machine operator for the Bemis Corp., New London. Tim was united in marriage to Sandra “Sandy” M. Bricco on April 20, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. As a life-long member of St. Rose / St. Mary’s, Tim was instrumental in the development and the construction of the St. Mary’s Prayer Garden. For many years, Tim served the area working with both the Clintonville and Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Departments. He also served on the Clintonville and Bear Creek City Councils. He really enjoyed hunting, and time spent along with his father in the Blue X Hunting Club based out of Mercer, WI. As a devoted Packer fan, Tim attended many games in person along with Sandy. The couple enjoyed time traveling; with memorable trips to Punta Cana, Florida, Mexico, and others. Golfing was also a pastime of Tim’s in his later years. His family will remember Tim as a selfless individual who always put others first. Tim’s wife, daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren were his top priority. The love he shared as a husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law will never be forgotten.
