Waupaca splits doubleheader against Marinette

Bri Adamski got the runs started for Marinette first as she hit an RBI double to give her team a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

Adamski put another run on the board in the second inning with a ground out to advance a run home and make the score 2-0.

Peyton Vanpool gave Marinette a 3-0 lead as a wild pitch brought her across home plate for a run.

Barret Cole drove in a runner with a standing RBI triple to give Marinette a 4-0 lead.

Regan Hermanson drove in the fifth run of the game with an RBI double in the fourth inning.

Back-to-back wild pitches made the score 7-0 in favor of Marinette.

AJ Koran scored the first run for Waupaca in the bottom of the sixth inning with an RBI single. Callie Guyette knocked in a single RBI of her own to make the score 7-2.

A walk with bases loaded cut the Marinette lead to 7-3.

Marinette took an 8-3 lead with an RBI single by George Grandaw, which would be the final score of the first game in the doubleheader.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Waupaca’s Caitlin Ryan hit an RBI groundout in the first inning to give the Comets the early lead.

Lily Cichy drove in the third run for Waupaca with an RBI triple in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. Cichy scored on a wild pitch to take a 4-0 lead.

Cole drove in a run for Marinette with an RBI double to cut Waupaca’s lead to 4-1 in the third inning.

A wild pitch brought in a second run for Marinette in the fourth inning, and a wild pitch brought a runner across home plate in the fifth inning to make the score 4-3.
