Burton, P. Gordon

Gordon P. Burton, age 80, New London, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at his residence. Gordon was born on May 30, 1932, in New London son of the late Maynard and Mattie (Jensen) Burton. On July 14, 1962, he was united in marriage to Alice Allen. He was a graduate of New London High School. He served his country in the US Air Force. Gordon was employed at New London Utilities and retired from Miller Electric in Appleton in 1994. He is survived by his wife Alice, his children: Julie Ferrante, Las Vegas; Peter Burton, New London and Deb Buelow, Weyauwega; Amy (Wayne) Huntley, New London; Paul Burton, New London and Molly Burton, Appleton; grandchildren: Hunter, Jade and Eli Huntley and Cole Buelow. Gordon is further survived by in-laws, Elaine Dunn, Sun Prairie; Loraine and Don Frey, Florida; Sarah Jane Allen, Neenah; Fr. Richard Allen, Appleton; John and Jean Allen, Madison and Loretta Allen, New London; and also aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws, Frank and Molly Allen. Funeral Mass for Gordon will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. Arul Joseph Irudamoney officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Graveside and Military Rites will be held.
