Ralph Thomas Brooks, age 90, of New London, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Crossroads Care Center in Weyauwega.
Ralph was born on May 14, 1925 to the late George and Elsie (Schultz) Brooks in Appleton. He was united in marriage to June Humblet on September 9, 1944. She preceded him in death in 1975. Ralph loved Polka music and dancing. He raised horses and ponies and was a handyman that could build anything. Ralph served in the US Army Cavalry in WWII with General MacArthur.
Ralph is survived by eight daughters: Joan Loehrke, Waupaca; Barbara Brooks, Kaukauna; Pat (Lyle) Nollenberg, Readfield; Carol Brooks, New London; Lana Durkey (Fred Fumelle), Weyauwega; Diane (Elmer) Jensen, Eagle River; Susie Brooks (Jeff Fredrickson), New London and Wendy Brooks, Waupaca; one son, Tom Brooks (Tim), Kaukauna and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, June; son, David and his wife Mary Brooks; one brother and five sisters.
A funeral service for Ralph will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Cline and Hanson Funeral Home in New London. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Rev. John Brandt will be officiating and burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Readfield. Full military honors will be held.
