Fatal UTV crash near Mud Lake

TOWN OF HARRISON –Waupaca County Sheriff deputies responded to a call about a UTV accident on Sunday, April 27 at 12:25a.m. They found a male outside of the crashed UTV in the north ditch on Mud Lake Road, north of Nitke Road. The male was pronounced dead at the scene. Nitke Road joins Mud Lake Road as it makes a right angle to form a T-intersection. This forms the western and southern boundaries of Mud Lake Bog State Natural Area. The crash remains under investigation.
This is the second recent fatal crash with a UTV in the area. On March 21, a male driving a UTV ran a stop sign and struck a pickup on U.S. Highway 45/ W. Madison Street. The man died from his injuries.
