July 26, 1950 – October 16, 2026
Judy Joyce Hahn (née Rath), age 76 of Sugar Grove, IL passed away peacefully on Friday October 16, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Judy’s strong faith gave her comfort and peace as she left this world to join her heavenly Saviour.
Judy was born on July 26, 1950, in Wild Rose, WI to Phillip and Joyce Rath. She grew up in Waupaca, WI. She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1968. Judy was a cheerleading captain and Homecoming Queen her Senior year. She moved to Naperville, IL in 1974 where she raised her family.
Judy's greatest joy in life came from being a mother and grandmother. She was deeply involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives, baking birthday cakes, sewing Halloween costumes, inventing games, and attending countless performances and sports games. Her warmth reached far beyond her own family, and she was an honorary grandma to many.
Judy loved to garden, cook, sew, paint, and sing. She always showed up to family gatherings with a dessert (or three) and a smile. Her garden was full of flowers, blackberries, strawberries, tomatoes, and squash, which she could often be found tending to on warm summer days.
Judy was the loving mother of Melinda (Ash) Hahn, Terra (Mark) Fuller-Kulpins, and Paul (Anna) Hahn; cherished grandmother of Sparrow, Kailey, Hannah, Garrett, Andrea, Joseph, John, and Maria; sister and best friend of June (Mike) Goggins, brother Danny Rath and sister Marianne (Jim) Nusz, and friend to countless others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Joyce Rath, sister Susan Cartwright and brothers Ron Rath and Terry Rath.
