• Aug. 10 – A person visited the sheriff’s office lobby with a video of a Tesla truck dumping a mattress on their property, once in June and again last Saturday.
• Aug. 10 – A caller reported his neighbors were shooting guns and the bullets were landing on his property. His father was in the woods and could “see lead flying.”
• Aug. 10 – A caller reported a scam involving a Microsoft error pop-up window. The caller transferred money and later closed all accounts. The caller said the scammers are calling every day.
• Aug. 10 – A caller reported a man threatened to kill himself unless the caller gave him some money.
• Aug. 10 – A man reported he went inside for 20 minutes. During that time, a black Chevy was gone. The keys were left in the ignition.
• Aug 10 – A caller reported a suspicious dark-colored Ford Ranger sitting in a driveway.
• Aug. 11 – A man reported he was in a verbal argument with his girlfriend. He went to an interview, returned home and his girlfriend ran out screaming: “Where were you?” He requested a welfare check on her.
• Aug. 11 – A woman reported a black Suburban or Yukon swerving from the fog line to the center line.
• Aug. 11 – A man reported a black Suburban struck a parked Ford F150 and took off and pulled into the Landmark Motel.
• Aug. 11 – A 911 caller reported the death of a 74-year-old woman that fell.
• Aug. 11 – A man reported his ex-girlfriend was texting and harassing him and watching him through trail cameras.
• Aug. 11 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile runaway.
• Aug. 12 – A caller requested a welfare check on a woman walking along the road at night with a bag and using her cell phone as a flashlight.
• Aug. 13 – An anonymous caller requested a welfare check on a juvenile. The caller was at a bar in Iola and the bartender, the mother of the juvenile, said she had a stripper pole in her garage. The caller was concerned this was inappropriate for child to be around.
• Aug. 13 – A man reported he was driving his tractor on County Trunk E and a passing car “clipped” the tractor. No damage to the tractor. The car pulled over.
• Aug. 13 – A man reported he was attacked by another man. The man grabbed him by the throat and threw him into a piece of metal.
• Aug. 14 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a raccoon was having a seizure.
• Aug. 14 – A man reported he paid $4,400 down for a contractor to build a building. They did not send him any paperwork and are asking for $30,000 more.
• Aug. 14 – A woman reported neighbors were blasting fireworks for the past 30 minutes. It was an address on Buelow Road.
• Aug. 14 – A man reported two juveniles banged on his windows and rode off on a scooter.
• Aug. 14 – A caller reported finding a 35-miles-per-hour sign in the middle of the road.
• Aug. 14 – A man reported a 33-year-old man was having schizophrenic episodes lately, grabbing his head as if in pain.
• Aug. 14 – A caller reported a blue-and-white Malibu wake boat was making dangerous wakes in violation of the local ordinance.
• Aug. 15 – A man reported suspicious two males were kayaking on a local lake and they would go onto the shoreline. They appeared to be scouting out properties.
• Aug. 16 – A woman reported the motor of their boat docked at a campground was on fire. They put the fire out but she thought it was started intentionally.
• Aug. 16 – A woman reported a juvenile was killing animals: three ducks and a chicken.
• Aug. 16 – A caller reported that a 34-year-old woman took about 30 diazepam pills.
• There were six deer-related calls during this period. Five controlled burns were called in. The water patrol stopped five boats. A caller reported an injured duck near the roadway. A black cow was reported loose near County Trunk D. A woman reported he was bit by her dog the day before. A delivery driver reported he was bit by a dog while on the job. A caller reported some cows were loose and provided the names of the husband and wife that owned the cows. A man reported being chased by a red-haired dog and it almost knocked him off his bike. A man reported his was bitten by a friend’s dog. A woman reported he was bitten by a stray cat she’d been feeding for a few years.
