Committee meeting

At the Feb. 4 New London Capital Project and Equipment Committee meeting, New London Finance Director Judy Radke told the committee that after the cost of the already approved capital project equipment and projects is considered, there is $561,504 available in the capital fund.
She added that if each of the potential capital equipment and projects were to be approved, the remaining balance in the fund would be $27,000. That balance would increase, though, as some of the equipment that would be replaced would be sold by the city, with the sale funds being added to the capital program fund.
The remaining money in the fund could be used for unexpected capital equipment purchases or projects.
“Also, keep in mind that the capital projects, besides those dollars, we do have about $300,000 in capital projects reserve, just in case something would happen to a piece of equipment,” Radke said.
