Carol Jean Stoehr

Carol Jean Stoehr, age 80, of Antigo, died peacefully on June 20, 2026 at her home. She was born on September 18, 1945 in Milwaukee, a daughter of Raymond and Beatrice (Schmoll) Buelow. She married Todd Stoehr on August 16, 2008 in Clintonville.

Carol graduated from Nathan Hale High School in West Allis and attended the Milwaukee Area Technical College. She served in the United States Navy from September 25, 1963 to May 14, 1964.

She  was an office supervisor at Valley Eye Associates for 16 years and Guardian Insurance for 7 years both in Appleton. She moved to Antigo in 2019.

Carol enjoyed reading, knitting, DIY woodworking projects, and throwing darts. She was most proud of raising seven beautiful children.

Survivors include her husband, Todd; seven children: Kenneth McCafferty and his children, Ryan, Nichole, Heidi, and Joanne; William McCafferty; Heather (Nate) Mueller and their children, Jacob and Aaron; Anthony (Kim) McCafferty and their children, Kyra and Chance; Terri (Jim) Mielke and their children, Danielle, Jess and Morgan; Franklin McCafferty and his son, Riley; and Dawn (Jeff) Larson and their children, Eric, Zachary, Trevor, and Andrew. Three step-daughters: Ashley Stoehr; Rochelle McCafferty and her children, Riley and Cole; and Aleesha Cummings and her daughter, Sofey. She is also survived by brothers, Ellsworth (Margaret) Buelow and Richard (Kathleen) Buelow; brother-in-law, Dean Molzner; and countless others who considered her a bonus mom.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy (Tu) Payne and Geraldine Molzner; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl McCafferty.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 22 beginning at 11 a.m. at Carol's home, W8720 Neffswitch Road, Antigo. A prayer will be led by Duane Henning at 1:30 p.m. and Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m.

Flowers may be sent to the home for the August 22 event and cards of condolences may be sent to the Stoehr family at above home address.
