WAUPACA – The City of Waupaca Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau combined forces in 2025 to create an organization that aims to promote local business and tourism.
Jeff Anderson, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, was present at a March 3 city council meeting to discuss the chamber and visitor’s bureau merger as well as a recap of what happened throughout 2025.
Anderson said the two entities, Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau, have two separate sets of jobs; however, the two can operate together and function as one unit.
This merger was part of a rebranding, Anderson said, that helped bringing focus to the brand as an organization and bringing together functions of each entity.
Along with this rebranding the visitor’s bureau and chamber combined web sites with the central hub for information being housed at www.waupacachamber.com.
Anderson said they have also changed the rate structure for the chamber as well, implementing a more tiered structure.
This new structure allows businesses to choose the level of support that they want, with anywhere from lots of advertising opportunities to a community free level where businesses not ready to invest in the chamber still have an opportunity to be a part of the chamber with basic representation on the web site.
Anderson said 26 new partners joined the chamber in 2025 and they hosted over 20 events.
Last fall the chamber won an award through the state for their implementation of a social media and digital marketing strategy that was able to drive up online engagement numbers 400 percent.
The social media aspect of the campaign garnered them three million views as well as an additional two million views from the digital marketing aspect of the campaign.
He also made note that the Chamber of Commerce gift certificates increased in sales by 20 percent making the organization about $100,000.
