MANAWA – After the turkey is carved and the table is cleared, Manawa will be jumping in to the holiday season with multiple Christmas events for the family.
The annual Merry Manawa Christmas event is back again this year and is packed with activities.
Downtown Manawa will hold Merry Manawa Dec. 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m, as the downtown area will come alive with the Christmas spirit, complete with Christmas music and twinkling lights.
Businesses downtown will be open later to allow for guests to explore the shops and take in a holiday themed drink at one of the local taverns.
The event will also have vendors and food trucks, as well as Amish baked goods.
Many of the downtown businesses will also have their own activities, including Bingo for a chance to win Chamber bucks.
The Holiday Craft and Gift Fair will take place Dec. 7 at the Manawa Elementary School, 800 Beech Street.
This annual craft fair is $2 for admission for those ages 13 and up and will start 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
There will be over 100 booths as well as hourly raffles.
The booths attending will range from Christmas décor to baked goods.
The event will also feature a visit with Santa for the children.
Another annual event is the Miracle on Bridge Street, which is set to take place Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a Christmas parade starting at 5 p.m.
Participating businesses and organizations will each have activities, with the Sturm Memorial Library featuring Lego Reindeer Ornaments, cookie decorating at Bridge Street Salon, Grinch and scripture bracelets at the United Methodist Church, horse drawn wagon rides at the Mid-Western Rodeo and so much more.
The event will also feature a cooking contest with the theme of cranberries.
This family friendly event is meant for just that, families to go and enjoy some Christmas fun without having to worry about money and cost.
