WAUPACA – Just after 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, Waupaca County deputies responded to a report about a driver on U.S. Highway 10 that was swerving around, had erratic speeds and almost hit a guardrail. They pulled over the 41-year-old driver who reeked of alcohol. He was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, 2nd offense, Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device and Operating after Revocation. Due to his high level of intoxication, he was admitted to a hospital for medical care. A preliminary breath test showed the driver to have an alcohol concentration of .42714. Due to the driver being .02 restricted from his previous OWI arrest, he was more than 21 times the legal limit.
